A few new release dates come this week from Meek Mill and Xzibit, while Lupe Fiasco and Tyga have album titles, and T.I. says “Trouble Man” is coming.
Anything can happen in the release dates world, and it usually does. While we were hoping to get Meek Mill’sdebut Dreams & Nightmares this Summer, it looks like we’ll be spending Halloween with the album. Meek’s planning to drop it on October 30th (the day before Halloween). Fingers crossed he keeps that date. A few weeks before, Xzibit is plotting a return. Napalm will be dropping on October 9th, alongside Machine Gun Kelly’sBad Boy debut Lace Up and OFWGKTA signees Trash Talk with 119.
Despite the fact that Lupe Fiasco will be dropping Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1 on September 25th, he already has his next two albums titled. The follow-up will be appropriately titled Food & Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 2, followed by Skulls. Tyga has an album title too for his follow-up to Careless World: Rise of the Last King. His next one will be titled Hotel California. No dates yet on any of those releases. Another album without a release date is T.I.’sTrouble Man. That was slated to arrive next month, but Tip is saying now that he’s hoping it arrives some time before the end of 2012.

Tyga explains how he first heard about the recall of his YMCMB debut through Twitter. Two days ago, YMCMB fans received a shock when news broke that Tyga’s long awaited studio debut Careless World: Rise of the Last King had been suddenly recalled over an uncleared sample of Martin Luther King, Jr. Now, the Compton rapper talks about first hearing of the threat of a last minute delay of his LP. In a recent interview with V-103’s Greg Street, Tyga explained that it was actually his fans who first informed him of the possible snage in Careless World’s release. He said that he received a number of TwitPics of fans receiving the recall notice and even holding the LP already on store shelves with a notice attached saying the album could not be sold. Despite this final hour scare, Tyga said that his label was able to iron any issues out with Dr. King’s estate and that the album’s release went according to schedule. “Basically, [the stores and label] recalled them,” he explained. “I’m looking on my Twitter and fans are hitting me up all day like, posting pictures of [the album] and they have some in stores, but then they have a piece of paper next to them saying ‘Recalled - can’t sell.’ I’m like, ‘Yo, this is crazy.’ My fans are going crazy, like, ‘I have it in my hand, I’m thinking about just stealing it, but I wanna buy it though,’ and I’m like, ‘Nah, just go back tomorrow,’ so they’re going to get a lot shipped today [Monday February 20], and it’ll be in stores tomorrow.” Careless World dropped earlier today on YMCMB/Universal Republic. The full interview can be seen below.
The YMCMB signee was pinched over prior traffic incidents. Rapper Tyga was arrested over the weekend in Las Vegas, Nevada after police acted on a warrant for his arrest. According to TMZ, the “Rack City” spitter was pulled over on a routine traffic violation. During the stop, police discovered that there was a warrant out for his arrest stemming from four other traffic violations. Those issues include driving without a license, registration violations and unlawful acts of financial responsibility. Tyga was incarcerated at the Clark County Detention Center. He was released the next day on his own accord.
The Cash Money rapper strikes a regal pose on the cover of his upcoming album. Tyga has unveiled the cover art for his upcoming albumCareless World: Rise of the Last King, releasing December 20th. The album, his second studio release and first for Young Money, has reportedly collaborated with Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes and Soulja Boy for the project. He already released the singles “Far Away,” “Still Got It” featuring Drake and, most recently, “Rack City.” Check the cover art below (via HHNM).
Weezy instead refocuses the spotlight on impending Young Money/Cash Money releases.
Earlier this month, Mack Maine revealed that Lil Waynewas hard at work on I Am Not a Human Being 2 and would soon begin recording Rebirth 2. But during a recent interview with Weezy on the set of Birdman’s “Y.U. Mad” video, the rapper told MTV News that the releases were “unimportant” and instead plugged upcoming LPs from Drake, Nicki Minaj, Birdman and more.
“Drake’s album Take Care is coming November 15th, I think. Nicki is about to be working on her next album. What’s the name of it? She said she’s still figuring out a name, so we still figuring it out. Stunna coming. I Am Not a Human Being 2 and Rebirth 2 are so not important right now. And that is what it is,” he said. “We got Twist coming, we got Tyga coming and then we have Shanell coming. Bow Wow coming… That’s what’s really important right now. What I’m doing is really never important, actually. I’m a very unimportant guy. That’s just me.”
Contrary to his dismissal, Mack said that Wayne has amassed a dozen tracks for I Am Not a Human Being 2 and will soon begin recording the sequel to last year’s Rebirth. “He gets to show his rock side, he gets to show his gangsta side and talk to the women on one side,” he said. “On I Am Not a Human Being, he is definitely showing some weirdo, left-brain, I’m-not-from-here type side. He can say what he wants. There are no boundaries, there are no limits.”
